How To: Install.jar Mods Your description of how to install Java mods is wrong. The reason is that if you put the java file in the mod folder, it will only work as a basic mode until another one is installed in a different section of the ".minecraft." folder. Here is what I mean: 1. Cut or copy the jar file but don't paste it yet 2. Open the folder for versions, and create an entirely new folder. Copy the jar file into the folder you created. Copy the jar file to the folder and then paste it with another name 5. Open the jar file in notepad, copy all the text and close the file 6. Copy the file and delete it. Create another file (mostly the type txt) and name it exactly as the Jar file 8. Once created exactly as the jar file then save the file with the same name as an .json file 9. Open the json file using Notpad and copy the next 10. Launch the launcher, and then select the mod you "made 10,5. Minecraft news If this doesn't work, do these steps 11. Open the version folder. Select the folder that you don't need. If the mod runs 1.7.10 you will need to locate a folder running 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file to the folder you have selected. Rename it exactly to match the JSON file. Start the launcher, and then select the version. If you're unable to locate the folder, go back to the folder with the versions and look for the folder that was last edited. Then, you can rename it according to your preference. I recommend to rename the files within that folder exactly what the folder is called.
